The short answer is that I love empowering women. It is about so much more than the beautiful images we create. I’ve learned that women truly love the experience as much as their photos. There is so much anticipation that builds from the moment of the first consultation. Everyone has a reason why they want this experience – a birthday, special occasion, an accomplishment, or just because – it all boils down to self-love. Some women start off a little nervous, but all are excited. Witnessing the awakening that women experience is incredibly rewarding. Seeing themselves in a whole new way, clients leave my studio feeling beautifully empowered and the anticipation builds as they contemplate what their final images will look like at their photo reveal session. The reveal is my favorite part of the process. I can’t get enough of the look on women’s faces when they see their photos for the first time. Some women even cry and in these moments, I feel truly blessed to have been part of their journey.
Beauty to Boudoir
I didn’t start out as a boudoir photographer. My background is beauty and maternity photography, which I still shoot and enjoy. In fact, my passion for boudoir photography was borne from my love of maternity. When a woman feels glorious in her own body, there is no one more beautiful and I love capturing these moments that my clients will treasure forever.
Modern Boudoir is Empowering
Boudoir photography has evolved immensely. It began in France in the early 1900’s to give men a glimpse into the secret world of a woman’s boudoir – her private sitting/dressing room adjacent to the bedroom. The word boudoir itself is derived from the French word “bouder,” meaning to pout or sulk, which were expressions attributed mainly to women. While there are many reasons women today do boudoir photoshoots, the majority are doing it for themselves. Look at modern boudoir images and you will see empowerment, beauty, and strength. What you won’t see (hopefully)– sulking, sad or oppressed women with no purpose of their own. We have changed. Our values have changed. There has been no better time in history to be a woman and I am proud to be part of the evolution/revolution.
What's My Boudoir Style?
Since my focus is on expression of self-love, my style is artistic and more sensual than sexual. My goal is for women to connect with themselves and see themselves in a beautiful new way. Every session is custom-tailored to bring each client’s dream and vision to reality. What is your dream? Schedule a consultation with me and we can explore that together.
